This is a guide to use the custom temperature sensor kit built by Bigmate. This kit can be used for taking temperature measurements of various meats.
Inside the kit is Syrus 4G Gateway, Satcom, and power supply. The satcom ensures that the data will be sent to the platform even when there is no cellular connection. Please note, this requires a direct line of site to the sky for it to work. The temperature measuring and data delivery are separate, so if the area when the temperatures are being recorded is inside, the box can then be taken outside to send the data, in the case where there is no cellular network available.
Currently, temperature readings are sent every 5 minutes. If you require this be adjusted, please contact support.
Outside the box are two temperature sensors. One has handle, as pictured below. This is the meat probe.
The other sensor is for ambient air sensing, as pictured below:
Once the box is plugged in and switched on, the Syrus device will boot up. After some time, it will begin sending the temperature data to the Pegasus platform. This can be seen in the tracking screen for real time viewing of the current reading, as shown in the screenshot below:
To see reports based on the temperatures measured, head to the reports section:
From here, the report at the top of the list of reports is where historical temperature data can be found:
Click on the report to see more information:
From here, search for the name or IMEI of the Syrus device that came with your kit. You will then see the data recorded populate on the screen. There are multiple tabs which can present this data is many usable formats, such as: charts, historical data, and a summary.
To get data from these other tabs, the device and a timeframe needs to be specified, then click "Get Data":
This can also be downloaded using the button to the right of the "Get Data" button.
