Orientation and Positioning
Positioning the device - Bin configuration 1
Mount your LevelSense.™ device aiming its sensors at the centre of the bin base.
Note: LevelSenseGPS.™ will not establish a position if mounted to a metal lid as shown in image B.

Positioning the device - Bin configuration 2
Mount your device as close to the lid opening as possible and ensure the sensors points towards the centre of the bin base.
DO NOT install your device onto a dirty bin lid or flaky paint. Use a cleaning agent and a scouring pad to remove dirt and flaky paint.
Positioning the device - Bin configuration 3
Use the PiP mounting accessory to aim the device in cases where the lid angles the sensor away from the center of the bin base.
To find out how to assemble your mounting bracket please read how do I assemble my mounting bracket?
Bin liner
Ensure the bin liner installed inside the bin is black, this is necessary for the device to perform optimally. For increased performance ensure the bin liner is correctly tucked around the internal can and is fully open as shown below.
Mounting Bracket Assembly
This bracket can be folded up by hand using a hard flat surface or pliers to bend the tabs.
Step 1: Bend side wall upwards
Step 2: Fold top mounting face back over onto itself to the desired angle.
Step 3: Insert mounting face tabs into the desired slot and fold downwards.
Step 4: Bend side walls around the unit and bend over the side tabs.

Activating Device
To activate your LevelSense.™ device, place a strong magnet in the position indicated in the picture below for 3 seconds.
Installation Process
-
Locate the optimal position for the type of bin so that the sensor aims towards the bottom center of the bin. Use recommendations made in the previous section and chose the most appropriate mounting configuration.
-
Using a cleaning agent and a scouring pad clean the mounting surface on the underside of the lid. Ensure all dirt, surface rust and flaky paint is removed.
-
A degreaser or solvent-based cleaner may be required to remove surfaces coated with heavy oils. This should be followed by cleaning the bonding surface with the IPA/water mixture. A cordless multi-tool can be used to clean flaky paint.

-
Considering the bin configuration positions, remove the tape backing and place the device onto the cleaned surface area on the underside of the lid. Apply firm pressure evenly to the device for at least 10 seconds to ensure the tape adheres well to the bin surface. DO NOT apply direct pressure to the sensors.
