This article will outline how to generate reports based on data generated from a tracker that is located within a geofence. There are many use cases for this information, such as: vehicle idle times on work sites, vehicles speeds in areas of interest, etc.
Create geofence:
- To start, you will need to create a geofence to isolate the data you are looking for. This is done in the geofence section of the site:
- You will then be presented with the geofence page, which let's you view, assign, and create geofences, show below:
- To create a geofence, click the "create" button. This give you the option to create multiple types of geofences: circle, polygon, or route:
- This step will demonstrate how to create each geofence specifically:
- For the circle geofence, start by clicking the centre of where the geofence need to be. Then click on the outer perimeter to complete.
- For the polygon, start by clicking on the map around the area where the geofence needs to be. Then continue to draw the area by clicking on the map. To complete the geofence, double click on the final point.
- For the route geofence, click on the map along the route of where you want the geofence. Then double click to complete.
- See the video below for a guide:
- To clear the drawn fence, use the 'clean' button shown in the video in the top right corner.
- Once the geofence has been drawn, click save.
- This will bring up a menu that will let you adjust the name and other settings of the geofence.
